Today, information systems no longer merely support businesses. Increasingly, systems are an integral part of business and it is imperative that the systems enable the business to fulfill its strategy. In spite of this, many companies are dissatisfied with the quality of their information systems. They often cite the following reasons for this:
• Systems provide insufficient or ineffective business support
• Systems are difficult to use
• Systems are unreliable
• Systems do not interoperate, interrupting the efficient flow of information across the enterprise.
According to the Standish Group only 34% of projects are successful. This means that the finest business strategies and plans are often laid to waste by poor execution. Systems, it seems, are not developed with the correct understanding of the business they support. The real customer needs are often either presumed or are not considered at all.
At each step of the system delivery value chain the risk of misunderstanding consequently increases and the system that gets developed and implemented does not align with what the business really needs to accomplish. This coupled with ineffective, or inadequate, governance and execution of the delivery disciplines contribute to the woeful incidence of success.
Tharollo Consulting's raison d'etre is to eradicate poor execution thus assuring a business initiative's success. We do this using our own framework of solution engineering disciplines which have ensured our fine record of on-time, within-budget projects.
Founded in 1997, Tharollo Consulting's mission is to partner with our clients to ensure that their business needs are successfully addressed by devising and delivering the right technology solutions.
